Recipe Ingredients
- 8 ounces uncooked dried cavatappi pasta
- Kosher salt, for pasta water
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 large Land O Lakes® Egg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 8 ounces (2 cups) Land O Lakes® Sharp Yellow Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces sliced Land O Lakes® Deli American, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
Recipe Directions
- Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions for al dente. Drain; set aside.
- Meanwhile, whisk together milk, egg, ground mustard and hot sauce in medium bowl; set aside.
- Toss together Cheddar cheese, Deli American and cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.
- While pasta is draining, melt butter in pasta pot. Return pasta to pot; add milk mixture and cheeses. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, 5 minutes or until cheeses are melted and sauce is smooth and starting to bubble. Serve hot.
