Recipe Ingredients

  • 6 Mrs. T's 4 Cheese Medley Pierogies
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounce rice cakes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon dashi powder
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang
  • 1/2 tablespoon gochugaru
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 chopped scallions
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sesame seeds

Recipe Directions

  1. Soak the rice cakes in cold water. Set aside for later.
  2. In a small bowl, combine gochujang, gochugaru, and sugar. Mix well then set aside.
  3. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Arrange the pierogies in the pan and cook for 8 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat. Add dashi powder, drained rice cakes, sauce from earlier, and scallions. Mix until the sauce has fully dissolved.
  5. Let the sauce simmer until thick and glossy, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add the pierogies to the pan and mix well. Reduce until pierogies and rice cakes are well coated.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds.
