Recipe Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage Crumbles
  • 3/4 cup Borden Cheese Ultimate Pizza Blend thick cut shreds
  • 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 1 egg
  • Chopped scallion for garnish
  • Drizzle of olive oil

Kimchi Jam

  • 2 cups chopped kimchi
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

Recipe Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Melt the butter then add the kimchi. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and mix well. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until you get the consistency of loose jam. Mix in apple cider vinegar then set aside to cool.
  4. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Add pork sausage crumbles and cook for 8 minutes or until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Remove the puff pastry from the fridge and transfer to a lined baking tray. Score the edges of the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border. Using a fork, prick the center within the edges of the puff pastry sheet.
  6. Spread a thin layer of the kimchi jam over the puff pastry, making sure not to spread into the edges. Top with cheese and the sausage crumbles from earlier.
  7. Whisk an egg then brush it along the edges.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until the tart is golden brown.
  9. Garnish with scallions and drizzle olive oil on top before serving.
