Recipe Ingredients
Frozen Hot Chocolate:
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 envelope hot cocoa mix
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 cup Graeter’s Double Chocolate Chip Handcrafted Ice Cream
- Cool Whip
- marshmallows (optional)
Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Straws:
- 10 oz. dark chocolate melting wafers
- 1 (16 oz.) package of marshmallows
- nonpareils for decoration
Recipe Directions
Frozen Hot Chocolate:
- Add cocoa mix, milk, ice and Graeter’s Ice Cream to a blender or smoothie maker and blend well.
- Pour into a glass and top with Cool Whip, marshmallows, sprinkles and chocolate syrup (if desired).
- Add a straw (see below) and enjoy immediately.
Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Straws:
- Prepare a tray or trays lined with parchment paper.
- Poke a straw into a marshmallow and lay on the tray. Repeat with as many marshmallow straws as you desire to make.
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt the wafers at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir.
- Continue to melt in the microwave at 50% 30-second intervals until the wafers are mostly melted. Stir after every interval.
- Take the bowl out of the microwave and let sit for a few minutes to continue melting until smooth. The heat from the bowl will finish the melting process.
- Pour nonpareils in a bowl, enough to have a depth of 1-inch in the bowl.
- Dip the top half of the marshmallow into the chocolate with the straw in a vertical position. Swirl in the chocolate to ensure the top half of the marshmallow is fully coated.
- Hold the marshmallow above the chocolate and lightly shake off any excess chocolate.
- Dip the marshmallow in the nonpareils.
- Lay the marshmallow straw on the tray ensuring that it doesn’t touch the sides of the tray or the other marshmallow straws.
- Let marshmallows cool and harden – about 15 minutes.
