Recipe Ingredients
- 6 Mrs. T's 4 Cheese Medley Pierogies
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 8 ounce rice cakes
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon dashi powder
- 3 tablespoons gochujang
- 1/2 tablespoon gochugaru
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 chopped scallions
- 1/2 teaspoon white sesame seeds
Recipe Directions
- Soak the rice cakes in cold water. Set aside for later.
- In a small bowl, combine gochujang, gochugaru, and sugar. Mix well then set aside.
- Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Arrange the pierogies in the pan and cook for 8 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat. Add dashi powder, drained rice cakes, sauce from earlier, and scallions. Mix until the sauce has fully dissolved.
- Let the sauce simmer until thick and glossy, about 5 minutes.
- Add the pierogies to the pan and mix well. Reduce until pierogies and rice cakes are well coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds.
