Recipe Ingredients
- 1 cup Desi Whole Milk Yogurt
- 1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 12 oz Desi Paneer, sliced into fried-size pieces
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3/4 cup light beer
- 2 tablespoon red chili paste
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 3 cups panko breadcrumbs
- Neutral oil
Recipe Directions
- Add yogurt, cilantro, lime juice, and garlic to a small bowl. Mix well, cover, and set aside.
- In a medium sized bowl, add the flour, cornstarch, chili paste and spices. Slowly pour in the beer while mixing at the same time. The batter is done when it feels like pancake batter consistency (you may not use all of the beer).
- Add panko breadcrumbs to a medium sized bowl. One by one, dunk the paneer slices into the batter then cover with breadcrumbs.
- Add 1" of oil to a pot and heat to 350 degrees. Fry the paneer fries in small batches until golden brown. Sprinkle with salt and serve with dipping sauce. Enjoy!
