Recipe Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
- 1 Granny Smith apple, cored and sliced thinly
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/4 -1/3 cup sliced almonds
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- Powdered sugar for garnish
Recipe Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, and cut one sheet of puff pastry into 6 rectangles.
- Lay out the puff pastry rectangles on the prepared sheet pan. Drizzle maple syrup onto each rectangle, making the area slightly smaller than the size of the puff pastry.
- Then add the almonds, brown sugar and finally the apples overlapping on each.
- Cover each with a rectangle of puff pastry, and gently press down on the apples, also pressing down on the edges.
- Brush each top with the beaten egg, and bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool a minute before flipping over and serving with a dusting of powdered sugar.
