Recipe Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter, melted
- 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream
- 2 large Land O Lakes Eggs
- 1 tablespoon clear vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles
Recipe Directions
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 9-inch round baking pan with nonstick baking spray.
- Whisk together sugar, melted butter, sour cream, eggs, vanilla and salt in large bowl until smooth. Add flour and baking powder; whisk 30-45 seconds or until smooth, scraping down side of bowl halfway through.
- Fold in 1 tablespoon sprinkles. Spread batter into prepared pan. Scatter remaining 1 tablespoon sprinkles over smoothed batter.
- Bake 22-27 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Store covered at room temperature up to 3 days.
TIP
For a more “authentic” birthday cake flavor, use artificial vanilla flavor instead of pure vanilla extract.
