Recipe Ingredients
- 1 package Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage Crumbles
- 2 cups Borden Finely Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese
- 1 cup Chopped onion
- 2 14.5 oz. cans Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 pack (1 1/4 oz.) Taco seasoning mix
- 10 oz. Tortilla chips, coarsely broken (about one bag)
- 2 cups Shredded lettuce
- 1 cup Diced raw tomato
Recipe Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook onion, tomatoes, beans, sausage and taco seasoning in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- While the mixture is cooking, place the broken tortilla chips in a lightly greased 13x9-inch baking dish. Cover with a layer of 1 cup of cheese.
- Once the mixture has thickened, add the sausage mixture and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Once it is finished cooking, top the taco bake with the shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes and cut it into squares.
- Serve topped with sour cream and cilantro, for some added fun!
