Spicy Orange Butter


This unique, citrus butter is great when spread on savory toast, sandwiches, grilled or broiled items before they are served or to finish sauces before serving. It can also be used tossed with hot pasta, rice, noodle, grains or vegetables!


  • 1 cup Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice
  • 3 Tbsp. minced shallots or onion
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 8-oz. butter, softened (1 stick)
  • 1/4 cup minced cilantro


In saucepan heat Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice, shallots, and red pepper flakes; bring to a boil, reduce heat and reduce liquid to thick syrup (about 3 tablespoons). Remove from heat and cool. Whip butter and add orange syrup until smooth. Stir in cilantro and adjust seasonings. Shape into a log, sandwiched in plastic wrap to form a tube. Chill at least 4 hours before using. Makes 1+ cups.
