Mac 'n' Mornay


Serve up this comforting macaroni dish for lunch or dinner. Mmmm.


  • 12-oz. uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. Sargento® Artisan Blends® Shredded Parmesan & Romano Cheese
  • Dash ground nutmeg


Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.

Meanwhile, melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and salt; Cook and stir 2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking constantly, until well blended and smooth. Cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Remove from heat. Stir in Sargento® Artisan Blends® Shredded Parmesan & Romano Cheese and nutmeg.

Toss macaroni with sauce mixture. Sprinkle with additional cheese, if desired.
