With this easy recipe, you can whip up classic Strawberry Shortcake in no time - complete with whipped topping!
- 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 8 slices thawed Sara Lee frozen Pound Cake (10.75 oz.), each 1/3" thick
- 1/2 cup whipped topping
- Chocolate curls, optional
Slice Pound Cake into 8 slices, approximately 1/3 inch thick. Set aside. Cut tops off strawberries, slice lengthwise and place in a small bowl. Sprinkle strawberries with sugar. Place four pound cake slices on plates. Top each slice with 2 tablespoons strawberries. Add second cake slice and an additional 2 tablespoons strawberries. Garnish with whipped topping and chocolate curls, if desired.
