Apple-Jack Salad


Try this recipe for a crunchy and tasty salad, topped off with an easy-to-make homemade dressing!


  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 cup Heluva Good!® Sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6-oz. Heluva Good!® Cheese of your choice, cubed (Heluva Good® Monterey Jack, Colby, Cheddar, Swiss, or Washed Curd)
  • 5 Macintosh apples, cored and diced
  • 1 10-oz. bag spinach, large stems removed
  • apple slices for garnish


Cook bacon, crumble, and set aside. Mix together Heluva Good!® Sour Cream, mayonnaise, sugar, and lemon juice for the dressing. Set aside.

Combine celery, walnuts, cheese, and apples in a mixing bowl. Add dressing and toss well. Divide the spinach among 6 plates. On each plate mound the salad in the middle and sprinkle each serving with crumbled bacon. Garnish each plate with apple slices. Serve immediately.
