Use this recipe for a comforting apple compote, a classic dessert fit for the fall season.
- 3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 24 Farm Rich™ French Toast Sticks with Cinnamon Sprinkle (available in 20-oz pkg. or larger packages)
- 3 cup vanilla ice cream
- 6 Tbsp. caramel topping
Slice apples into 1/2-inch thick slices; combine with sugar and juice in medium saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat for 20 minutes or until liquid is reduced by half and slightly thickened. Remove from heat; set aside.
Prepare French toast sticks according to package directions. Arrange 4 French toast sticks on each of 6 plates; top with one scoop of ice cream. Divide apple mixture evenly over each scoop of ice cream then top each serving with 1 tablespoon of caramel topping. Serve immediately.aside.
